The lowdown: A kulfi joint from Coimbatore (RS Puram) that sources all its Kulfis and ice creams from Mumbai has just added Chennai to its footprint. There’s a mix of classic kulfis (in slices and sticks) and a bunch of seasonal ice-creams that come in unusual and almost bizarre flavours (Calcutta Pan ice cream anybody?). Tucked away in Shastri Nagar in a tiny yet cheerful space with enough parking, this dessert stop get its pricing dead right.
The Deets: Kulfis and ice creams cost between Rs 35 and 75 each. Ground floor, No: 1, 3rd Cross Street, Shastri nagar, Adyar, Chennai: 20. Phone: (044) 4553-0099. Google Maps.
Must try: The Calcutta Pan ice cream is truly wicked, while the tender coconut kulfi is seriously fresh. Some of the seasonal specials like the thandai and the fresh strawberry are worth checking out too.
